Canibus - Life Liquid

Back in the late 90s, Canibus was THE EMCEE. He was killing it on mixtapes and features and had the most highly anticipated album in hip hop at the time. Known for clever wordplay and punchlines, fans were expecting an album of nothing but this.

BUT, that album did not live up to the hype (thanks Wyclef!). Mainly the beats were weak. At the very least, not what we wanted from Canibus. It took some turns, got a little different, and even experimental. Canibus was deemed a flop.

A couple years later he released 2000 B.C. It was basically him saying "hey this is the album yall expected from me". And it was pretty dope.

One of my favorite cuts is Life Liquid where he goes back and forth with an emcee Journalist. It's straight bars and exactly what you'd want from Canibus.
